Here’s an Autumnal visit to our archives. Back in 2015, we made a special one-off replica of Sir Paul McCartney’s home bred Appaloosa, Moonstar.
This fabulous piece was very kindly signed by Sir Paul who also added a line from a famous Beatles song: 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.'
The song was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and includes the lyric "where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies" which was beautifully hand-written on the base of the horse.
The replica also included a plait of Moonstar’s hair in the tail and a surprise in the secret locking compartment. Moonstar was photographed at Sir Paul’s home along with his homegrown pumpkins before being auctioned to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
